Given the option, I don't know why anybody would choose to make music in some sterile newfangled downtown recording studio. Following Colin Easthope and Leathan Milne's westcoast tour, we hauled the mobile Gnomegrown recording rig up to a family cabin at Timothy Lake, BC. In four days, six songs were tracked mostly live-off-the-floor with the wood stove crackling away in the corner. Dag nammit, already miss it. Expect a digital release of the tunes in time for festival season.

If you've been curious, much has changed around this neck of the woods. The Gladgnome house's days are numbered, as its about to be demolished to make room for a couple boring old Vancouver Specials. As resident Conor put it, we are Gladgnomore. Coincidentally, this news came shortly after I (Brandon) decided to move out and fly solo. As much as I loved that creaking, leaking, patchwork-contraption of a house, I'm very excited for my new mixing/ mastering setup in a rad new house in East Van. I'm also pretty excited to experiment with different recording spaces. The first of such experimenting will begin this January. Right after Colin and Leathan get back from their westcoast tour we're heading to the Hoffman Family cabin on Timothy Lake, BC to track a bunch of new songs Colin has in the works. Stay tuned for advancements in this and other projects, and join the new Mailing list! Every month or so I'll send out links to free downloads and important dates relating to Gnomegrown artists and releases. Cheers - B.
